I have been traveling since I was 14 years old, but I've done most of my traveling in my adult years. I have already been to 16 countries so far and I am looking forward to many more. As far as my traveling goes, what I always try to do is travel without breaking the bank, I don't want just one week vacation per year where I leave all my savings, I am always on the lookout for cheap flight tickets and so I try to travel as much as possible, usually I visit around 7 places each year. So buckle up and get ready, because once you've been bitten by the travel bug there's no going back, and if you do it the way I do it you will really never want to stop!

I lived for over a year in Romania, many years in Tennessee, and several months in England. My travel style is slow, spontaneous, and - shall we say - richly flavorful. I prefer to stay longer lengths in places instead of having a whirlwind sightseeing venture. I'll skip the chain restaurants for a hole-in-the-wall café any day of the week. I prefer a loose itinerary and remain open to what each day brings. My favorite things to do and see as I travel are... - EAT - Try whatever is local. Order the special of the day. Talk with the restaurant staff. - WALK - It encourages me to slow down, notice, and get a feel for community. - HIKE - I'm a lazy hiker. By "hike," I mean a few hours at a slow pace. - MUSEUMS - Spend an afternoon. Read the descriptions on exhibits. Talk with the docents. Buy something in the giftshop. - CHURCHES - I'm fascinated by the various ways people have worshipped the God of the Bible over centuries and across borders. Many older churches are also museums or tourist-friendly spaces. Some additionally hold regular liturgical services. - CASTLES - Castles, fortresses, palaces, big ol' houses: these places transport me back in time. I recently moved back to the United States after living abroad in Turin, Italy for 1 year. While abroad I discovered my passion for travel while visiting 26 different countries and 45+ breathtaking cities. Some years before I used to connect European Travelers with Indigenous Communities Destination in Panama. I consider my travel style to be a good balance between, getting lost in things that people usually passed on, but are truly worth stopping by! BUT--- without missing the major landmarks of the place... I like the feeling of finding a nice "not usual" place and to be the only traveler there, full of locals, trying to remain the most "localish" possible to see the true colors and behaviors of some spots... On my trips I usually adapt either to a slow pace (as sometimes I make places my base, because I work remotely), which provides a lot of time to explore, or to a pre-determined shorter time. (from a Day-trip all over to 2 or 3 weeks) What I truly believe is part of me, is the skill to adapt to different environments with ease, and after a couple of days feel myself like at home, I genuinely feel lucky about that I can travel and connect with the world, and I would like to help more people to do it!
