🇻🇳 Hi, my name is Viet, and I have dedicated the last 9 years of my life to an extremely intense exploration of my homeland - Vietnam. 🏙️🏞️ I have traveled the whole country several times, starting with the main cities and common routes, and ending up exploring countless off-the-beaten-path trails and ethnic villages in remote mountainous areas. 🏍️ As a passionate motorcyclist, I have done all of my trips on 2 wheels, giving me the opportunity to truly experience and be connected with both the surroundings and the people in the present moment. Most recently, I lived in my car for over seven months, while I visited every National Park in the lower 48. I hiked, camped, met amazing people, and hiked some more. I got to experience the parks like a local, because I had no timetable, no flights to catch, no rental car to return, etc. Some parks I stayed only for a few hours, and others for over a week. I chatted with park rangers, stayed with people that lived nearby, and camped with others at some amazing campsites. The travel guides I share give you an "insider" look at the national park, with tips for the best hikes, tricks for finding campsites (but I always include hotel options too), as well as information about the various aspects of the parks. I like being in new places more than the process of travel. Whenever I go to a new place, I like to spend some time there so that I can learn about the history and the culture. The best case scenario is to make local friends so that you can learn about the country from their perspective. Some of my cross-cultural travel highlights include: meeting my wife (and learning French because of her) and having all of my stereotypes shattered by my Middle Eastern friends. My desire to better understand my friends and their world led me to study Arabic and attend graduate school at the School of Oriental and African Studies - University of London where I learned about the history and politics of the modern Middle East. I am now passionate about helping people from the West discover the beauty of the Middle East.
