"This one is pretty straightforward. It's literally a tree in the middle of the lake. But come to think of it, we don't think we've ever seen a tree growing out of a lake like this. This is a very popular Wānaka landmark that youy can stop at and even spend the day at the lake.

"Arguably, the Wanaka Tree is one of the most Instagrammed spots in all of New Zealand. It's beautiful, especially for sunset. Just know it's probably going to be crowded! It's probably a 5 minute drive from downtown and most campsites which is nice and is only about a 2-3 minute walk from the closest parking lot."
