Although my childhood hometown has changed a lot over the years, Portland is still the vibrant, artsy, cultured city I've always known. Portland is the heart of the Pacific Northwest - a quirky, urban city on the intersection of the Willamette River and Columbia River surrounded by dazzling mountains, farmland, forests, and waterfalls. Portland makes a great destination for travel via the International Airport on the edge of town. The late spring - early fall is a wonderful time to sightsee and check out all the nearby hikes.
