La Scarzuola

"Weird, wonderful, and hidden away in the hills of Umbria, La Scarzuola is the brainchild of the accomplished Italian architect Tomaso Buzzi who built is on the grounds of an old monastery. Tours must be booked online in advance and are available on a limited schedule. Italian tours are led by Marco Solari, the eccentric nephew of Buzzi and current owner. Be prepared for tours led by him to be colorful if not intentionally abrasive. The website implies this is a character, so take offense or simply embrace it as part of the experience! English tours are available upon request at time of booking.
