Rathaus-Glockenspiel

The Glockenspiel in the New Town Hall tower at Marienplatz, Munich, depicts two historic events: the wedding of Duke Wilhelm V and Renate of Lorraine in 1568, celebrated with a jousting tournament, and the Schäffler dance, performed by barrel makers after a plague epidemic. It chimes daily at 11am and 12 noon.



The Rathaus-Glockenspiel is a large mechanical clock located in Marienplatz Square, in the heart of Munich, Germany. Famous for its life-size characters, the clock twice daily re-enacts scenes from Munich's history.
