"Dambulla Golden Temple, located at the base of the Dambulla Rock, is an iconic Buddhist site known for its striking golden statue of the Buddha that stands 29 meters tall. The temple is part of the Dambulla Royal Cave Temple complex, but it stands out due to its modern golden exterior and peaceful atmosphere.
Visitors can explore the surrounding temple grounds, which include a large hall filled with beautiful murals and statues of Buddha. The area offers stunning views of the nearby rock and countryside. The temple is a serene spot for reflection, making it a great place to learn more about Sri Lanka’s spiritual heritage.
Pro tip: Visit early to avoid crowds and take in the morning light on the golden statue. The Dambulla Golden Temple is perfect for travelers interested in Buddhist art, history, and stunning architecture."

"These five caves house numerous Buddha statues in various poses, adorned with frescoes depicting the life of Buddha. Tickets are available at the base of the steps for 2000 rupees. A long staircase, mostly exposed to the sun, leads up from the ticket office. Watch out for monkeys, as they may try to take unattended items. Shoes must be removed before entering the temple; a deposit is available for 50 rupees. Remember to cover shoulders and knees as this is a sacred site. Allow a couple of hours to explore the caves and appreciate the detailed statues and frescoes. The top offers a magnificent view of the valley."

"Climb up a mountain to this hidden cave temple and be amazed at the history of Buddhism. The entire cave complex has been used as living quarters and temples for the monks. It's impressive to see and there is lots of monkeys to keep you company too. "
