"Coudenberg was a magnificent palace for 700 years, but unfortunately was destroyed by an accidental fire in 1731. The underground portions of the palace still remain today, and have been converted into a museum! When I went mid-June, it was super empty (and a bit spooky), but I really enjoyed learning more about Belgian history.

"The Historical Option - This museum is actually an excavation site. Coudenberg was a former palace that burnt down and was paved over. "
