This mini guide will provide you with a list of 5 incredible and affordable experiences in Berlin, allowing you to explore the city to the fullest on a budget.

This is a simple, flexible, 3-day itinerary for a budget traveler. It also includes a list of places to stay, both hostels and hotels, that are affordable but high-quality. Make sure to check the detailed descriptions for each place. Also, be sure to read all hostel/hotel descriptions to make sure you book exactly what you're looking for!

This guide is organized as having at least one thing from each of the following categories for each day: culture/history/art, outdoors, & food/drink/nightlife. For museums, I try to include about how long to plan. This guide is organized by day, but not necessarily time. The activities included in each day should fill your time but not leave you feeling rushed. Feel free to mix the order of things as it works for you.

Berlin is one of Europe's most dynamic cities. Its rich, tragic history has spawned countless museums, memorials, & projects that are both fascinating and impactful. The art scene has something for everyone; if you prefer classic & historical, modern & thought-provoking, or if you don't consider yourself "artsy" at all, you can always find something to appreciate in this city. Berlin's energy is unmatched. So far I've visited 3 times & am still planning on going back! I guarantee Germany's capital will not disappoint.

This guide isn't just the locations you'll find on other sites. While some of those locations certainly are worth visiting, this is my carefully curated list of what to do both on and off the beaten path. Berlin like a local

Tempelhofer Feld

Tempelhofer Feld used to be a Flughafen (airport), but is now a huge park for locals. My suggestion? Grab some friends and some beers and watch the sunset on the old tarmac at this very unique park.

How to get there: It will require some walking to get there. Bus M43 toward U Berliner Str. takes you to Friedhöfe Columbiadamm, which is about a 15-minute walk from the park. From Alexanderplatz, you'll need to take the U8 toward Hermannstraße and get off at Boddinstraße, then board the M43.

Tempelhofer Feld is a great park - it's an old de-commissioned airport (operational until it closed in 2008) and the runways are great for riding bikes, skating and flying kites. There are also small community gardens within the park, and you might see some farm animals there like chickens and goats. This is a popular spot all year round, but especially in the summer.

A unique urban park in Berlin, situated on a former airport runway, offering vast open spaces for outdoor activities such as biking, picnicking, and kite-flying, as well as a place for locals to unwind and enjoy the city's greenery.

Did you ever wonder how it must be to wander around a runway of an airport? The former Tempelhofer airport is nowadays accessible for pedestrians to enjoy a nice stroll or to enjoy different kind of sporty activities. 

Once airplanes took off from the grounds that used to be part of Tempelhof Airport. Now, the "Tempelhofer Feld" is a large public park where locals enjoy picnics, sunbathing and doing sports.

Great for an early morning walk-  historically an area in Berlin used for military practice. Now, roam the grounds freely
