"This is arguably the most well-known museum in Berlin. It's very large; it houses the Antique Collection, the Near Eastern Museum, and the Museum of Islamic Art. You will need to plan the better part of a day for this, but I really do think it's worth visiting.
The museum houses art, archeology, and ethnology from both Europe and the rest of the world. It is extensive, fascinating, and a MUST-do for museum lovers. If you aren't so much a museum person, proceed with caution: As mentioned, it is not something you can see in an hour. The 3-day ticket (see below) can still be a great option for less museum-enthused travelers because you can break it up.
Price: For just the Pergamon Museum, the price is 12 EUR. They also have other ticket options for other museums on Museum Island: 19 EUR for Pergamon, Alte Nationalgalerie, & Panorama, or 32 EUR for a 3-day pass (only for permanent exhibitions). This pass includes multiple museums, be sure to read about it on the website and plan accordingly. The link is also listed in the blurb at the beginning of this section. All reduced prices for students are 50%.
Time to plan: If you are only doing the Pergamon, plan at least 2.5 hours, but honestly this would still feel rushed. If you have the flexibility, plan for longer. The 3-day ticket may be nice if you want to see the whole museum but don't think you can handle it in one visit! If you have a Museum Island ticket and want to do it all in one day, plan for 5 hours minimum. PLEASE NOTE: You still need to reserve time slots for day passes. Do this ASAP.
How to get there: Right on Museum Island, take the U5 to the Muesumsinsel stop and walk just a few minutes. If coming from Alexanderplatz, take the train in the direction of Berlin Hbf.
Know before you go: The Pergamon Museum will be closed for renovations beginning in October of 2023. All exhibits will be closed to the public until at least 2027 when they plan to reopen part of it. Completion for the rest of the museum is TBD.
Also, note that the bundled ticket and the 3-day ticket includes many museums, so don't buy extra!! Even if you purchase the bundle, it may still require you to book time slots in advance, so be sure to do so. "
