"Saint George beach is and has always been the most popular beach in Naxos. It lays south-west of the capital, Naxos Town, and is easily accessible on foot from almost every part of the capital. It took its name after the chapel of Saint George, built at its northern end. The beach is usually calm since it is well protected from the northern winds. It has shallow, warm waters so it is widely preferred by families with young children because it offers a great degree of safety. It is very well organized with many umbrellas and sun-beds for rent.
Saint George beach is a favourite and convenient spot for teenagers, young people but also locals of every age who go there every day from middle spring till late autumn since it is only a few steps away from their accommodation.
One can spend an entire day at Saint George beach. The cafés on the beach open up early in the morning offering excellent and inexpensive, generous breakfast of great variety, from the ancient and traditional yogurt with honey and walnuts, to various omelets, juices, coffee, tea and toasted sandwiches of all kinds. The fantastic view of the entire bay and the relaxing music of the café will turn your breakfast into an experience rather than a meal.
After a long swim and a suntan there are many taverns on the beach offering meals for every taste, from fresh fish to grilled meat and many local dishes. The sports club at the southern end of the beach will offer you a chance to practice your skills in windsurfing, catamaran sailing and other summer sports."

"This is the main beach right by Naxos town and is easily walkable. The water was really shallow and this would be a great beach for families with kids. We liked it but we saw many more beautiful beaches during our time in Greece. This was a great and convenient place to spend a few hours! "

"This beach is perfect to have a day in the sun. You can easily rent an umbrella and a chair for the day or a half day. You can order drinks and food as well. "
