Con Son Island

"200km from coast, empty, almost no tourists because it's difficult to get there, till not long ago the only way to get there was a 14h long cruise. Locals come here because of the tragic history of the island. It's estimated that American and French military killed about 21k people there. It's also where Viet Cong members were impriosoned in a very cruel way. There was a prison where they tortured with phisical force but also chemicals or the sun. They kept them in cells with no roof - there are museums all around the island. The majority of the island is national park which is why the island is wild and clean. You can sleep in the park and walk through the jungle. How to get there: Slow boat from Vung Tau/ VASCO plane from HCMC/ Speed boat from Soc Tranc. Don't sleep in a tent, it's a military zone and you can get fined. "
