Victoria White
"Located in the labyrinth like streets of the Gothic Quarter you will discover this quaint little square overlooked by the baroque church from which it takes its name. Many locals meet up by the fountain for coffee, whilst school children play and ride bikes around the square. Unfortunately, the church and square holds a tragic past, as in 1938 the area was bombed in the Civil War, killing numerous people including 30 refugee children who were taking shelter in the church. If you look carefully, you can still see the where the damage occurred from the shrapnel on the façade of the church. "

"This is one of the most beautiful squares in Barcelona and with so much history. The church’s façade still wears the scars left over from the Civil War, and many mamovies and books have scenes in this plaza. "
"Location of many movie scenes because the church's facade still holds scars from the Civil War. "
