Klaipeda black ghost

"Contrary to the name, the sculpture doesn't depict a typical ghost. It portrays a mysterious figure, shrouded in a long black robe, emerging from the depths of the water. The sculpture draws inspiration from a local legend. The legend tells the story of a guard named Hans von Heide from the 16th century who witnessed a strange apparition while on duty at Klaipėda Castle. Some believe the Black Ghost represents a restless spirit, while others interpret it as a phantom or a harbinger of misfortune. Sculpted by Svajunas Jurkus and Sergejus Plotnikovas in 2010, the Black Ghost is a 7.8-foot tall bronze figure. Half of the figure is submerged in the water, creating a sense of mystery and intrigue. The Black Ghost is more of an artistic interpretation of the legend, leaving room for various perspectives."
