"The Church of San Giovanni Battista in Monterosso al Mare was built between the 13th and 14th centuries and was later renovated in the Baroque style. It is one of the oldest churches in the Cinque Terre and is a fine example of Genoese Gothic architecture. The church's façade is made of alternating stripes of white marble and green serpentine, and it features a rose window and a Gothic portal.
The interior of the church is spacious and bright, and it is home to several works of art, including a 15th-century wooden crucifix and a painting of the Madonna and Child by Antonello da Messina. The church also has a crypt that houses the remains of several saints."
