" Covering an area of approximately 117 hectares (290 acres), the park is one of the largest urban parks in France and is even larger than Central Park in New York City.
The park is known for its picturesque landscapes, including lush lawns, tree-lined paths, serene lakes, and meandering waterways. Its design offers a perfect blend of manicured gardens and more natural, wooded areas.
The park includes:
- a lake
- A Rose garden: open daily from 6am to 9pm. It covers 5ha and contains 5,000,000 roses.
- Botanical Gardens: it includes an alpine garden, greenhouses, an arboretum, a fern collection, the historic rose garden and the Mexican garden).
- Lambert Farm.
Free entry.

"The Parc de la Tête d'or is a large urban park in Lyon, France, with an area of approximately 117 hectares (290 acres). Located in the northern part of the 6th arrondissement, it features the Jardin botanique de Lyon, as well as a lake on which boating takes place during the summer months. Due to the relatively small number of other parks in Lyon, it receives a huge number of visitors over summer; it is a frequent destination for joggers and cyclists.
In the park's central part, there is a small zoo without charge, which includes giraffes, deer, reptiles, primates, along with other animals. There are also sports equipments, such as a velodrome, boules court, mini-golf and equestrian facility, in addition to a mini-train."

"This massive park has so many unique sections. I spent an entire morning here just wandering around. First there is a lovely pond and trails to walk on. There is also a greenhouse that is filled with beautiful plants. You will also see an area separated from visitors where a bunch of wild deer live. If you keep walking you will stumble upon a group of giraffes. This park is home to a free zoo. Now, I had no clue about this and was shocked to find giraffes on my morning stroll, but I will say the zoo was a bit depressing when I walked through. But it may be less depressing on warmer days where the glass isn’t fogging up. "
