What people say

"It’s all about the stamppot at ‘Mothers’, a quirky city-centre restaurant that’s decorated with photographs of customers’ actual mothers. The closest thing the Dutch have to a national dish, the combination of mashed potato, cabbage, bacon and sausage is quite a plateful, especially when it comes with an extra meatball. There’s plenty else to choose from, but bring a hearty appetite and don’t bother with starters – portions are huge. Be sure to bring a photo of your mother to have posted in the restaurant!"

"Satisfy your hunger with a hearty serving of stamppot (mashed potatoes blended with vegetables, paired with tender meat and savory gravy) or suddervlees (a delectable, slow-braised beef stew). And don't forget to indulge your sweet tooth with poffertjes or a slice of their mouthwatering homemade pie for dessert."
