"Youngblood, a speakeasy-style bar tucked away in San Diego's vibrant Gaslamp Quarter, is the place to be. It's a local favorite and a surprising delight for tourists, renowned for its ingenious cocktails, spirited ambiance, and affable staff.
Cracking the code to get into Youngblood requires an online reservation via OpenDoor, so remember to book ahead. With doors open from 6pm to 2am all week, you've got plenty of time to soak in the vibe. Getting there is like stepping into a secret adventure. Make your way to "The Neighborhood" bar/restaurant on 8th Avenue/G Street, find the door that bears no name. What awaits you inside is a journey to a hidden speakeasy, Noble Experiment, found by pushing on a wall of kegs near the restrooms. The intrigue doesn't stop there - nested within Noble Experiment, you'll discover Youngblood. Simply open the fridge to reveal another door leading to your final destination.
As you step inside, the bar is bathed in a warm, orange glow from the dimmed lights, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The interior is accented by shelves that are illuminated, showcasing an impressive array of alcohol. It's a spectacle that's both soothing and exciting.
Youngblood showcases a unique tasting menu that blends the familiar with the unexpected. The experience starts with a bubbly welcome in the form of champagne, followed by three drinks that take your taste buds on an exciting journey. From light and refreshing, to spirit-forward, to a dessert-inspired cocktail, the offerings are curated from fresh, seasonal ingredients and are a testament to the creativity of their mixologists. The highlight of my visit was an asparagus brine washed martini, a drink that sets a new bar for martinis.
At $65 a pop, the tasting menu is a small investment for a memorable evening. The drinks are phenomenal, the setting is mesmerizing, and the service is top-notch. So make a reservation, step into the secret, and enjoy the shared story of Youngblood. Remember, this isn't just another bar in San Diego, it's an experience to be savored."

"One of the most unique bars in San Diego has to be young blood. This speakeasy operates very differently where after a brief conversation with their bar staff they will craft a unique cocktail menu just for you.
This allows the bartenders creativity to shine and for them to give you a few cocktails that you will love.
Reservations are highly encouraged in the link below
We highly recommend going beforehand and eating at their outdoor restaurant neighborhood. It's a solid spot to load up on carbs before drinking."
