What people say

"Kew Gardens is an UNESCO heritage site where beauty meets a longstanding commitment to conservation and climate action. Explore the 130 hectares (321 acres) at Kew Gardens, which houses more than 50,000 types of living plants and millions of preserved ones. The Treetop Walkway is perhaps one of the most unique attractions at Kew Gardens. There are 118 steps up to the walkway in total, it’s 200m long and made up of 12 modular walkway trusses, connected by 10 circular ‘node’ platforms that provide opportunities for visitors to stop and enjoy the views across the walkway. Towering 18 metres above the ground, made from over 400 tonnes of weathered steel, the walkway’s rusted columns are designed to blend in with the natural environment. At groundlevel, sculptures carved from tree trunks illustrate microscopic elements of trees to explain how they grow. "
"From 15th November to 7 January enjoy the Christmas lights at Kew Gardens. Wander around the botanical world with twinkling lights. Enjoy independent street food vendors to keep you warm! The event features a magical light trail across Kew Gardens, making it the perfect festive winter evening event. The trail includes 3m high illuminated flowers, cascading lights suspended from the tree canopy, and one of the longest light tunnels to ever feature at Christmas at Kew. Visitors can keep warm with seasonal street food, mulled wine, and hot chocolate, or enjoy a Christmas dinner at The Botanical restaurant. The event has limited capacity with timed entry, so it is recommended to plan ahead and book tickets in advance. The Gardens close at 10 pm with last entry at 8 pm (7 pm on 24 December 2023). "
"Home to the world's most diverse collection of living plants, Kew Gardens stands as London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Site and a globally acclaimed scientific research hub. Whether you're drawn to themed gardens, eager to ascend the treetop walkway, or fascinated by the glasshouses, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew offer an ideal escape just 30 minutes from central London. For a bird’s-eye view of the gardens, walk along the 18-metre-high (59ft) Treetop Walkway. Tickets for Kew Gardens must be booked in advance vis the park's website."
