"The Great Sphinx of Giza is a monumental statue located near the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. It is believed to have been built during the reign of the Pharaoh Khafre in the 26th century BCE, making it one of the oldest and largest statues in the world. Carved from limestone bedrock, the Sphinx measures about 73 meters (240 feet) long and stands approximately 20 meters (66 feet) tall.
The Great Sphinx is widely regarded as a symbol of ancient Egyptian civilization and has captured the imagination of people for thousands of years. It is often associated with various myths and legends, including the story of Oedipus and the riddle of the Sphinx.
To get to the Great Sphinx, visitors can travel to the Giza Plateau, located on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. From Cairo, you can take a taxi, join a guided tour, or use public transportation such as buses or minibusses to reach the Giza Plateau. Once there, you can explore the Great Sphinx and the nearby Pyramids of Giza to marvel at the wonders of ancient Egyptian architecture and engineering."
