South Africa has always been on my travel bucket list, and I’m happy to say it totally lived up to the hype! I had the best time exploring the Garden Route on a road trip and going on incredible safaris.From stunning landscapes to up-close wildlife encounters, every day was an adventure. I can’t wait to share all the highlights and tips to help you plan your own unforgettable South African journey. This is a 10-12 day itinerary.🛣️🚗

In October 2022, my boyfriend and I took a roadtrip from George to Johannesburg to get his car back home. We thought we'd make the most of it and amble along the Garden Route for a few extra days. It was amazing, so I wanted to share some of it with you and add a few extra tidbits for those of you experiencing the places for the first time. It's recommended to go in spring or summer, but try to avoid holiday periods (December and January) as it can get super busy and sometimes pricey, unless you're going for a party haha. Enjoy!

The South African Garden Route is a 300-kilometer stretch that rounds the coast of South Africa extending from the Western Cape to the Eastern Cape. The route takes you on a journey where you consistently see mountains to one side and the Indian Ocean to the other. From incredible scenery to lush plant-life, to local stops along the way it’s the perfect international road-trip.
