Lion's Head Hiking Trail

"Also known as Signal Hill, this paroramic and scenic hike should definitely be on your bucket-list for your next Cape Town trip. You’ll see amazing views of the city, Table Mountain, some beautiful, popular beaches and so much more as you circle this hill. This hike is 5.5km and the duration is roughly 90mins. This site is open 24hrs and there are no bookings required. This hike accommodates all ages and fitness levels, however there are no railings and I suggest caution with young kids and those with a fear of heights. There are also different trail options to choose from, one of which allow you to climb up the last section of the hill for those who are adrenaline junkies. Cost: Free "

"4.5-km out-and-back trail, generally considered a challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Well marked and amazing 360 degree views. Some sections are quite exposed and there are ladders and staples to assist. There is one climbing section with staples and chains, this can be bypassed to the left if too difficult. This hike is popular on nights with a full moon (with headlamps) as well as at sunrise."

"It was my first time doing this hike December '24 and i cant recommend it enough. The locals love doing it at sunset. Its amazing at every hour honestly. Its a definite must do when visiting Cape Town. Entrance is free. "
