"Tivoli Gardens is more than just an amusement park; it's a living masterpiece in the heart of Copenhagen. This enchanting oasis, founded in 1843, is the second-oldest operating amusement park globally and one of Denmark's most beloved tourist destinations.
Since its inception, Tivoli Gardens has been a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, a realm where magic and fun intertwine. Inspired by European pleasure gardens, Tivoli has evolved over the centuries, incorporating new attractions and adapting to changing tastes.
Tivoli Gardens is a place where imagination knows no bounds. Among its many delights are:
Lush Gardens: Strolling through Tivoli's gardens is like stepping into a fairytale. Vibrant flowers, towering trees, and impeccable landscaping create an enchanting atmosphere.
Thrill Rides: For adrenaline seekers, Tivoli offers a variety of roller coasters and other exhilarating attractions.
Historic Buildings: The park boasts several historic buildings, such as the Pantomime Theatre and the Concert Hall, adding a touch of elegance to the ambiance.
Shows and Performances: Throughout the year, Tivoli presents a diverse lineup of shows and performances, from musicals and concerts to dance and theater.
Culinary Delights: Visitors can savor a range of Danish and international cuisine at the park's many restaurants and cafes."

"Opening Hours This place is a lot of fun and is one of the more older amusement parks in the world. It is believed that Walt Disney fashioned Disneyland after Tivoli.
We only did a few rides---the dragon boats, bumper cars, The Flying Trunk (Den Flyvende Kuffert--our favourite and fashioned off of Hans Christian Andersons fairytales), the Vintage Cars and the Vintage carousel. If the weather was better we would have done the Classic Ferris Wheel (Ballongyngen). I hear the vintage rollercoaster (Rutschebanen) is good too and it is still in use today after being built in 1914.
There's lovely live shows you can watch and apparently Tivoli during Christmas is a definite must.
What surprised me about Tivoli was how many just came to hang out there. There was so many Danish coming into the park for Sunday lunch.
Practicals: We bought the 'Ride Pass' which includes the entrance (189 DK). Do ask them what the best option for you is at the desk. The main entrance for the park is across the street from Rådhuspladsen (City Hall Square). The ticket office is just to the left of the gate. We did not buy our tickets beforehand. "
