"This picturesque village is situated in the center-west part of the island. It comprises a continuation of Fira and is considered one of the most beautiful balconies of the Aegean. Due to its location, it offers a breathtaking view of the sea, as well as the caldera and the volcano.
It is a great example of Cycladic architecture, with narrow alleys and whitewashed houses built on the cliff's edge. In fact, the name Imerovigli originates from the word vigla, which means "viewpoint", since the location allowed villagers to see the pirate ships approaching during the old times. "

"We walked from Fira to Imerovigli. It was a relatively easy and manageable walks (even in flip flops) and fairly pleasant. Imerovigli was pretty and very photographable, although there were plenty of tourists. I can't imagine how busy Oia would have been. "
