"On the second floor of the Université Paris Cité, in a room built in 1905, is the Museum of the History of Medicine. Its collections, the oldest in Europe, were brought together by Dean Lafaye in the 18th century and then an important set of pieces was added that covers the different branches of surgical art until the end of the 19th century. In particular, there are instruments used in the care of Louis XIV, rare medical and surgeons' kits, and physiology instruments.

"The museum some call the 'creepiest' of Paris. The museum of medicine, located still in the medical university is really a curiosity cabinet.
Oddities & strange floating things in formol, tools that look useful for torture & not healing, collection of glass eyes... You are in for a surprising visit! If the strange doesn't scare you, you will love it. The gothic building is also beautiful & feels like travelling in the 19th century. "
