What people say

"La Cantina del Macellaio was still closed for the off-season while I was in Riomaggiore but I called to inquire and the woman I spoke with was very kind and communicative. She was honest in letting me know that they can't do their first courses (pasta) gluten free. But they're most well known for their second courses (meat and fish) which can all be done GF. Digging deeper, I asked how they cook the meat and she told me it's typically done on the grill...to which I asked if any gluten-containing items ever go on the grill and she said no, only meat, fish, and vegetables ever make it to the grill. And they do have gluten free bread to enjoy with your meal. So I think this could be a great option if you make sure to communicate clearly and stick to their naturally GF options like the fresh fish (which I would recommend, celiac or not, because that's what this region does best)!"
