"100 kilometers from Munich, Lake Eibsee is nestled right next to Germany's tallest mountain, the Zugspitze. With its turquoise blue, crystal-clear water and little islands, the lake is also known as the Caribbean of Bavaria – and let me tell you, it is almost as beautiful as the original.
Around the lake there are multiple spots where you can either hire a stand-up paddleboard and paddle across the lake or lie down on the sunbathing lawn and simply take the majestic views in (don't forget to bring a book!).
The more adventurous can take the cable car up to the Zugspitze and enjoy the phenomenal views over the seemingly endless landscape (if the weather is really good you can see as fas as Austria!). There is also a very pretty restaurant at the lookout.
Everyone that feels like exploring the area, can follow the circular trail around the lake, which takes around three hours.
Lake Eibsee is a wonderful spot around Munich and really has it all: Outdoor activities, beautiful restaurants (at the top and bottom of the mountain), breathtaking views and multiple spots to take it all in. "

"Eibsee is by far the most beautiful place I have been. It took us roughly 2 hours to get here using public transportation from Munich's main station, but it was 100% worth it. I recommend planning an entire day here.
Visiting Eibsee is an activity for all times of the year. I visited in June, so we swam, hiked, and frolicked in the fields nearby. However, visiting in colder months is perfect for the winter sports gang, as the Wetterstein Mountains are right there. This particular lake is at the bottom of Zugspitze, the tallest peak in Germany.
Make sure to come prepared with your cameras, as the photo ops here were unbeatable."
