One of the most emblematic buildings is the Empire State Building, which stood out on the city's skyline as the tallest building for almost 50 years. Over time, there has been fierce competition to win the title of tallest building in the world, with the Chrysler Building claiming the title in 1929. However, the Empire State Building regained its status in 1931, its height reaching 381 meters thanks to the appearance of a tower, which initially had the purpose of a docking station for airships. It remained the tallest building in the world until the first tower of the World Trade Center was built in 1970. Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, the Empire State Building once again became the tallest building in New York until it was surpassed in 2012 by One World Trade Center.

In the city so nice they named it twice, the ESB still totes the claim of the most famous skyscraper. It is a symbol of NYC and the USA, so it has shown up in films like Independence Day and King Kong and was crashed into in the '80s classic,  Superman 2. Lonely hearts venture to the top on Valentine's Day like Meg Ryan in Sleepless in Seattle which pulls the idea from the film An Affair To Remember. Again, classic.

Prompt: Let it photobomb your pics on the street (It can be seen from NY Penn Station, Harold Square, or Madison Square Park) or venture to the top like Meg or escape King Kong's grasp in the Immersive Museum.

This was our first stop in the city! Getting a birds eye view of the entire city puts it all in perspective! Is your kid a lover of Percy Jackson? If so, they can stand in the spot where some of the movie was filmed. 

With 360-degree views of the city stretching 80 miles, the Empire State Building and its observation decks offer visitors an essential NYC experience, showcasing attractions like Central Park and One World Trade.

The world’s most famous building provides a unique opportunity to appreciate the cityscape of New York City, learn about its history and architecture, and enjoy a delicious meal.

Visit the observation decks: the 86th floor deck is the iconic outdoor one seen in movies, and the 102nd is a new deck is indoor. Both are amazing. 

It’s a debate on whether or not it’s worth the price to go to the top but I recommend it atleast for your first NYC visit!

Easy to get tickets on the same day. I highly recommend getting tickets for the 102nd Floor.
