Millennium Bridge

" Created through a collaborative effort between the Slovenian company Ponting and Mladen Ulićević, a renowned professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica, the bridge was officially unveiled to the public on July 13, 2005, coinciding with Montenegro's National Day. Since its inauguration, the Millennium Bridge has become one of the most prominent and iconic landmarks in Podgorica, symbolizing the city's progress and development. Spanning an impressive 140 meters in length, the bridge features a majestic pylon that rises 57 meters above the roadbed, offering a visually captivating silhouette against the backdrop of the city's skyline. The roadway deck is supported by twelve sturdy cables, while an additional twenty-four cables are attached to the counterweights, contributing to the bridge's imposing architectural design. With its thoughtfully designed structure, the Millennium Bridge accommodates smooth traffic flow, featuring two lanes for vehicles and dedicated pedestrian walkways on either side, ensuring safety and accessibility for all users."
