"Fagurhólsmýri isn't a town. It can't really be called a village either. But it's a good place to stop outside of Jökulsárlón (about 25 minutes to the west).
Technically, Fagurhólsmýri is a farm. But it just looks like a really big piece of land. One with an airstrip (though no planned flights) and a great view of Öræfajökull (the largest active volcano and the highest peak in Iceland). There's a seasonal guesthouse, a gas station, and a small cafe. Tours--ice caves, Jeep, puffins--start here, as well."
