Pyramid of Djoser

" The Pyramid of Djoser, also known as the Step Pyramid, is located in the necropolis of Saqqara, near Memphis, Egypt. Built during the 27th century BCE, it is one of the earliest and most significant structures in ancient Egyptian architecture. Designed by the architect Imhotep, the Step Pyramid marked a significant advancement in tomb construction, transitioning from mastaba tombs to the pyramid form. Pharaoh Djoser commissioned the pyramid as his final resting place, and it was part of a larger complex that included temples, courtyards, and smaller pyramids for his family members. The Step Pyramid itself consists of six distinct layers, or steps, stacked on top of each other, reaching a height of approximately 62 meters. To get to the Pyramid of Djoser, visitors can travel to Saqqara, which is located about 30 kilometers south of Cairo. From Cairo, you can take a taxi, join a guided tour, or use public transportation such as buses or minibusses to reach Saqqara. Once there, you can explore the Pyramid of Djoser and the surrounding archaeological sites to learn about ancient Egyptian history and culture firsthand."
