"A hidden gem, tucked away behind the walls of Palazzo Brera you will discover the historic oasis of Brera’s Botanical Garden. Noted as a living open-air museum the garden has a very interesting past, dating back to the 14th century when it was used as a place for meditation and plant cultivation by the Humiliati priests.
It has been used as a location for the teaching of medicine since 1775 and is now managed by the University of Milan. Interestingly the garden still maintains its original layout, featuring two tranquil elliptical ponds, an impressive arboretum and many lined blossoming flowerbeds. "
