"The Levada do Paul da Serra begins on the plateau of the same name, at an altitude of around 1,400 metres, and is one of the most spectacular walks on the entire island, ideal for a day with good weather.
The proposed route includes a round trip, totalling around 11 kilometres, and heads towards Paul da Serra. If you continue in the opposite direction, for around 5 kilometres you will reach the emblematic area of Rabaçal, where a wide variety of walking trails begin, such as Levada do Alecrim, the 25 springs and others.
This area of the island is one of the most important from the point of view of renewable energy, as there are several wind turbines installed, as well as solar panels that take advantage of the natural resources of this region to generate energy.
Almost the entire walk is alongside the levada, which is mostly full of water. Take a few breaks along the way and enjoy the nature and all the surroundings that this walk has to offer.
Sometimes you may come across some cows along the way, which, despite being used to human presence, are recommended to be cautious and pay extra attention when passing near them.
The walk ends at the same starting point, returning along the same path."
