"If you think that Turkish cuisine is all about kebabs and spicy food, this place will surprise you.
The cuisine of the northern part (Black Sea Region) of Turkey uses corn, dairy products, fish, beans, and kale very frequently.
My favorites are the following:
Corn Bread (with butter the better 😌)
Kale soup 🥬
Mıhlama (Melted cheese with buttery corn flour) 🧀🌽
Turşu Kavurma ( Roasted Pickles)
Fasülye & Pilav (beans with buttery tomato paste-pair it with rice)
Karalahana Sarma (Kale dolma)
If the season, hamsili pilav (anchovy rice) 🐟🍚
Tip: This restaurant opened a new branch inside the Galataport and the previous chef of Michelin-starred Nicole Restaurant (Aylin Yazicioglu) is working there. A great reason to prefer this location.
In my other guide covering Asian Side, I recommended one more place serving this cuisine. Check it out, if you crossed the bridge!
