"Sete Cidades (Seven Cities) is a small town in terms of population, but the land it covers is quite large. The center of town sits in the center of a huge dormant volcano along the shore of the Lagoa das Sete Cidades (Lagoon of the Seven Cities), which are two lakes, Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde, connected by a narrow straight. You'll find a church, a museum, restaurants, small hotels, and adventure sports here. The outskirts of Sete Cidades is even more exciting, though. An abandoned hotel, epic hiking trails, a hydrangea-lined road, and viewpoints over the lakes are all stops before you head downhill into the center of town. Drive slow so you don't miss anything."
