Grace Ann Geer
"Brisbane is the Houston of Australia. It usually gets overlooked for the cooler and more touristy cities (Melbourne/Sydney and Dallas/Austin respectively) but is still fun for a short visit! I spent 3 nights at the YHA and thought 3 nights was a good time to spend here but wouldn’t really recommend the YHA. The location was horrible and it definitely wasn’t the cleanest of hostels. Brisbane is also where a lot of people stay when they want to visit the Australia Zoo. It is possible to visit from Noosa as well but it’s a little bit further of a trek from Noosa than Brisbane. I am also linking the Moreton Island tour that I did while I was in Brisbane. This was definitely the highlight of my time in Brisbane and was such a cool daytrip. You get to snorkel and kayak around a shipwreck and then slide down the sand dunes that are further back on the island! If you don’t plan on visiting the Australia Zoo or Moreton Island, I would suggest skipping Brisbane especially if you are short on time. You can see the whole city in a day and it may not be worth your time and money to go just to spend a day there. Some things I recommend for in and around Brissy: -Moreton Island -SouthBank Area -Australia Zoo -The Lagoon -Felons Brewery "
