"This Friday mosque was built in 1712 by the order of the Emir's wife. It served as a significant place of worship during the Emirate era.
An octagonal artificial pond sits in front of the mosque. In the past, such reservoirs were water sources for the population, but unfortunately, many became breeding grounds for diseases and were drained. Bolo Hauz remains as a historical reminder of this water management system.
The mosque features a 20-pillar iwan, a large covered entranceway that's a characteristic element of Islamic architecture. The reflection of the building in the reservoir, especially when the water was plentiful, is said to have created a visually stunning effect, earning the mosque its name "Bolo Hauz" - above the pool."
