"Systravatn (Sisters’ Lake) is a hillside lake that sits atop Skógarreitur, a national forest, in Klauster. Systrafoss (Sisters' Waterfall) flows from it, as the snow melts from the early spring until the late summer. Both the lake and the waterfall were named after the nuns at Kirkjubæjar Abbey, a Benedictine monastery that was in town for more than 300 years. The nuns used to bathe here. It's still the calm, peaceful spot they loved.
Note: It's a short, but steep, hike (a 0.6 mile out-and-back trail) up the hill to the lake."
