What people say

"The King Prajadhipok Museum, located in the Pom Prap Sattru Phai District of Bangkok, Thailand, is dedicated to the life and legacy of King Prajadhipok (Rama VII) and his wife, Queen Rambai Barni. Housed in a historical building, the museum spans three floors, each displaying permanent exhibitions related to the royal family’s life and reign. The museum showcases various photos, documents, and artifacts that reflect the royal biography of King Prajadhipok and Queen Rambai Barni. The building itself has an interesting history. It was originally the location of the John Sampson & Son's department store, a branch of the well-known shop in London, famous for its tailor-made shoes and saddles. The store was established in Bangkok following the encouragement of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) in 1898. The shop later closed when the company dissolved, and the building was subsequently rented to Luang Maitriwanich, who renamed it the "Suthadilok Department Store." The lease expired in 1933, and the Department of Public Works began using the building for office space. In 2001, the museum's operations were transferred to King Prajadhipok's Institute, which undertook renovations to prepare the building for its new purpose as a museum. After the renovation was completed in late 2002, the museum was officially opened on December 7, 2002, by Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn, under the patronage of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The King Prajadhipok Museum now serves as an important cultural and historical landmark, providing insight into the royal history of Thailand."
"Musem focusing on King Prajadhipok, however, I learned a lot about Thailand history here in general. I spent 2 hours there and really enjoyed the visit. And it's totally free!"

"This Museum showcases the life of Rama VII and Thailand's transition to constitutional monarchy in 1932. "

In late 2024 I finally went for the backpacking trip I was planning since 2020 - month in Thailand. And it was magical. From paradise beaches to jungle hikes and Buddhist temples Thailand has so much to offer I'm already looking forward to coming back. But I'm a backpacker that does try to make dollar stretch. I love traveling and spend months at the time on the road and budgeting definitely helps. In this guide I'll share with you my itinerary, sharing all places I stayed, all trains I took, all lessons I learned and all the costs so you can plan your perfect trip and not break the bank. My final cost for 26 days was 454€, and that includes everything from accommodation to transport, food and activities (except international flights and diving). I'll share with you exactly what those costs were and how you can replicate this budget trip. The trip was originally planner as solo trip but a friend joined me in the end. However its 100% suitable for single traveller or pair and I would also recommend it for solo female travellers. What you'll find in the guide ✔️day to day itinerary ✔️public transport information both local and long distance ✔️accommodation recommendations based on places I stayed ✔️activities to do ✔️restaurant recommendations (vegetarian) ✔️all helpful tips and tricks I learned along the way (food, money, drinking water, hidden fees and more)
