Children's Pool La Jolla

The Children's Pool Beach is closed to public access during harbor seal pupping season, Dec. 15 through May 15, yearly. This is a very picturesque beach with a panoramic view. Several small beaches are nearby including Wipeout Beach to the south and Shell Beach to the north.

The Children's Pool Beach is a small sandy beach area located at the end of Jenner Street. It is named after the construction of a concrete breakwater in 1931. Pro-tip: as of early 2023, the walkway of Children's Pool is closed due to damage. This is also a restroom area.

One of the best places to spot seals and pups! The beach itself is often closed for the seals, but there's a pathway surrounding the beach for observation. Heads up that you will definitely smell the seals when you're here :) 

Don't be mislead by the name; this beach is usually overtaken by seals suntanning. The whole walk along the shore is perfect for spotting sea-life
