"Nestled in the historic and lush neighborhood of Zabeel, Zabeel Palace serves as the official residence and administrative headquarters of the Dubai Royal Family. While it is conveniently located just moments from Dubai's bustling city center, the palace is surrounded by expansive parkland and equestrian centers, creating a tranquil atmosphere. This majestic structure is one of several homes belonging to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE. The palace grounds feature beautifully landscaped gardens filled with vibrant flowers, birds, and roaming peacocks, enhancing its regal charm. Though the public cannot access the palace's interior, visitors can approach the grand entrance along the scenic driveway. The impressive gates, adorned with statues of rearing horses, pay homage to the UAE's longstanding equestrian tradition and the ruler’s personal passion for horse riding. At night, the gates are illuminated, creating a stunning visual display that can be seen from a distance. While a police presence ensures security, guests are free to enjoy the serene gardens and take in breathtaking views of the iconic Dubai skyline. Interestingly, there are two Zabeel Palaces. The original structure dates back to the late 1950s and consisted of three smaller buildings. In 1963, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum initiated the construction of the new palace, designed by Ing. Otto Bulart. This new rectangular structure linked the existing buildings, forming a cohesive complex that became the new Zabeel Palace. Sheikh Rashid officially moved into this expanded residence in 1965, where he lived until his passing in 1990. Over the years, the surrounding area has transformed dramatically, evolving from a quiet desert landscape to a vibrant urban setting. While public access to Zabeel Palace is limited, visitors are welcome to explore the beautiful grounds up to the majestic gates. The palm tree-lined driveway, adorned with fluttering UAE flags, offers a picturesque setting and some of the finest views of the Dubai Frame, symbolizing the connection between the city's rich heritage and its modern advancements."
