What people say

Nally Preseault
"The Škofja Loka Castle & Museum stands on a hill overlooking Škofja Loka. A fortress was first established here at the beginning of the 13th century. The current castle, a large white building, was built in the 16th century (and rebuilt in both the 17th and 18th centuries after earthquakes). Its museum has art, cultural, and history exhibits. The views from the castle are pretty impressive, too. Don't let the hike up to the castle deter you. Note: Closed on Monday."

"The castle's origins date back to the 12th century, originally built by the Bishops of Freising. Over the centuries, it has served as a military stronghold, an administrative center, and a prison. The castle's current structure primarily reflects its 16th-century renovations following a devastating earthquake. "
