Nally Preseault
"The best view of Ljubljana is, arguably, standing on Cobblers' Bridge (Šuštarski most). The pedestrian bridge, also known as Shoemakers' Bridge, is one of the oldest bridges in the city. It crosses the Ljubljanica and connects the two medieval sides of Ljubljana. A wooden bridge, with a butcher shop on it, was first built here in the 13th century. Shoemakers followed the butcher, hence the name. The current stone bridge was designed in 1931 by Slovene architect Jože Plečnik, whose works eventually became part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the center of Ljubljana. He decorated it with low Corinthian pillars and Ionic pillars, which hold lights. Try not to be enchanted as you look north while standing on the bridge."
