Zagreb Welcomes You

"The sculpture-model of the city "Zagreb welcomes" - whose length is 3.65 and width 3.55 meters - represents a city space of 2.64 kilometers and on it are shown in bronze 2515 house numbers, 153 city blocks, 19 squares, 128 street and 421 detached buildings and includes the most important historical sights and tourist attractions of the city center. The sculpture-model of Zagreb, which is located in an open space at the crossing of the central Ban Josip Jelačić Square towards Kaptol, is a block of stone divided into 14 segments on which there are bronze casts of parts of the city with 46 specially emphasized buildings and five monuments. On the sides, on the south and west sides of the model, a short text in Croatian and English about the history of Zagreb is carved, and there are bronze appliqués with the motif of the bull, the seal of the Chapter and the old coat of arms of Zagreb. In the left part of the model, there is a motif of the star Danica, in the center of which is a rotating sphere with a welcome in 38 world languages. In the base of the model, there are seven colorful scenes for special events and holidays related to Zagreb and Croatia, which makes the model - in addition to being sculptural - also a light attraction."
