"La Madraza of Granada (Arabic مدرسة school; also called Yusufiyya, Ciencia o Palacio de la Madraza) was the first university which featured Granada. It was inaugurated in 1349 by the Moorish King Yusuf I Granada.Today the palace belongs to the University of Granada, devoting almost the entire building for cultural activities. It is also the headquarters of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias.
Located in what is now called street Crafts, Madrasa was in one of the privileged sites of the city, next to the Mezquita Mayor and the Alcaicería, the trade area."
