"This is the #1 attraction in New York during the Holidays. Lit every year since 1933, it's open about 18 hours an day. It's usually packed with tourists. Only during the pandemic, with travel mostly shut out did I actually see it quieter. Be prepared for crowds, but accept it. This is also one of the first stops in an area that is concentrated with Holiday attractions (use the map so you can see all the goodies in the area). It could be the most icon Christmas photo in NYC. This is also your opportunity to ice skate at one of the most expensive rinks in the country (Rockefeller Rink). "
