Zabeel Park

"Zabeel Park, known in Arabic as حديقة زعبيل, is a sprawling urban public park nestled in the Zabeel district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Covering an area of 47.5 hectares, equivalent to approximately 117.375 acres or 45 football fields, the park is bounded by major roads, including Sheikh Rashid Road to the north, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road to the northwest, and Sheikh Zayed Road to the south. It features numerous sectors connected by pedestrian bridges, providing easy access through multiple entrance gates. One of its most notable attractions is the Dubai Frame, which is situated within the park. Opened to the public in December 2005 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Zabeel Park is one of Dubai's largest and most popular green spaces, offering a diverse range of activities and facilities for visitors. With a parking capacity for 2,300 vehicles, it is easily accessible, including via the Dubai Metro’s Red Line at the nearby Al Jafiliya Station. The park is managed by the Public Parks and Horticulture Department of Dubai Municipality. Entry to the park is affordable, with an entrance fee of AED 5 per person. Zabeel Park is a favorite spot for sports enthusiasts and hosts various recreational facilities, including a 2.5-kilometer jogging track, BMX and skateboarding parks, and designated barbecue and picnic areas. Visitors can enjoy a boating lake, lakeside restaurants, ice skating, a mini cricket pitch, and a golfing area, along with shaded seating and children’s play zones. The park also boasts an exhibition gallery, prayer rooms, a fitness center, and several monuments. In line with its technology-based theme, Zabeel Park is divided into three zones—Alternative Energy Zone, Communications Zone, and Techno Zone—featuring educational and interactive displays. Additionally, it offers a 3D cinema that hosts edutainment activities, enhancing the experience for visitors. The park is home to over 3,000 palm trees and approximately 7,000 other trees from 14 different species, creating a lush and inviting environment. Wi-Fi access is available throughout the park, and it has been a significant attraction during events like the 20th Dubai Shopping Festival in 2015, which saw over 90,000 visitors in just the first ten days."
