Charleston, the South Carolina port city founded in 1670, is defined by its cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages and pastel antebellum houses, particularly in the elegant French Quarter and Battery districts. The Battery promenade and Waterfront Park both overlook Charleston Harbor, while Fort Sumter, a federal stronghold where the first shots of the Civil War rang out, lies across the water.

Off Track Ice Cream

Tucked just around the corner from bustling King Street, Off Track offers innovative, made from scratch ice cream flavors with local ingredients, so its hard to choose just one! Luckily you don’t have to when you spring for an ice cream flight, or opt for an ice cream sandwich between their freshly baked snickerdoodle cookies.

In undergrad I worked here shortly after their grand opening, the owners are super passionate about what they do and really care about the quality of ice cream. They have some of the most unique and fun ice cream flavors in the city and even vegan options!

Hip dessert spot serves traditional ice cream, as well as vegan and gluten-free versions. The shop has creative options for milkshakes, sundaes, and cookie sandwiches.
