"One of Italy's most appreciated archeological parks, the Neapolis Archaeological Park boasts a range of ancient Greek and Roman ruins. The park's main attractions include the Greek Theater, one of the largest and most impressive in the world, that dates back to the 5th century BC and was used for theatrical performances and musical competitions. The Roman Amphitheater, which was built in the 3rd century AD, is another highlight of the park. It could seat up to 16,000 spectators and was used for gladiatorial games and other public events.
One of the most fascinating sites in the park is the Ear of Dionysius, a large cave shaped like a human ear, that was used as a prison in ancient times and is known for its unique acoustic properties, which allow even the faintest sounds to be heard clearly throughout the cave.
Other notable attractions at the park include the Altar of Hieron II, which dates back to the 3rd century BC, and the Latomie dei Cappuccini, a series of ancient quarries that were used to extract the limestone used to build the city's buildings and monuments.
The park is open year-round, with extended hours during the summer months, and you can explore it on foot, with guided tours available in a range of languages. "

"Explore some of the most impressive archeology that remains of the ancient city of Siracusa at the archeological park. Here you can wander one of the largest antique Greek theaters in the world, a Roman amphitheater and unique quarries where much of the stone used to build the city was sourced.
Audio guides are avaliable for hire, and are recommended, as information and signs is, at the moment, lacking throughout the park itself.
Bonus: if you are visiting in May or June, the Istituto Nazionale del Dramma Antico - INDA - hosts performances of classical Greek plays in the stunning theatre here. We highly recommend attending for the amazing location, setting and the re-invoked atmospheres of the classical time. Check out https://www.indafondazione.org/en/ for more information. "

"If you did leave Catania early, as I told you, you'll definitely find the time to visit this amazing yet extensive archeological park. I didn't, so I can't tell you much, besides the fact the I wish I did wake up early that day... "
