"The church of the Santísima Trinidad is one of the oldest preserved in Ourense. Dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries, it has undergone numerous modifications throughout its history. Its entrance gate from the Plaza de la Trinidad stands out, whose figures give a good account of the history of the temple, linked to an old pilgrims' hospital.
This doorway comes from the old Hospital de San Roque (16th century), a building that for many years occupied the site where the Post Office is today, in the Alameda. Hence the representation of the saint and his dog Melampo. Possibly the other two characters, in two medallions, are two famous doctors of Antiquity: Hippocrates and Galen."
